The Albanese Labor Government is continuing to boost the liveability of communities across Newcastle, with road and community infrastructure projects progressing, and increased funding to support a pipeline of future local priority projects.
Working in partnership with City of Newcastle, projects funded by the Albanese Government are improving the safety of local road networks, supporting local jobs, and unlocking new social and economic opportunities.
Almost $10.1 million in Roads to Recovery (RTR) funding will flow to City of Newcastle over the next five years – a boost of over $4 million thanks to the Albanese Government.

Nationally, the Albanese Government is delivering significant funding increases to support local councils progress their priority projects.
The Roads to Recovery program is progressively increasing from $500 million to $1 billion per year, the Road Black Spot Program is increasing to $150 million per year, and $50 million has been added to the new $200 million per year Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program.
