Novocastrians have a great record of volunteering their time and effort to help in our community.

Volunteers make an invaluable contribution and deserve to be recognised for the wonderful services they provide.

As the Federal Member for Newcastle, I have the pleasure of attending community events and meeting many of our fantastic, dedicated and hard-working volunteers.

With this in mind, I created the Newcastle Volunteer Service Awards in 2014 not long after I was first elected.

I am delighted to announce that nominations are now open for the 2024 Newcastle Volunteer Service Awards. These awards provide an opportunity to thank volunteers for their service.

I would like to encourage you to nominate someone who you believe has offered outstanding service in our community. Whether they be that person you know who helps out in the hospital or that someone who puts in the hours with their local sporting clubs. Your volunteer can be someone who has just started out or someone who has put months and years of service in.

Nominating someone is easy and will only take 10 minutes of your time.

Once the nominations are in, we will complete a selection process and a presentation ceremony will be held.
